What happens when you take an amazing tool, and distil it down? You get the world's most useful garden tool, and zero excuses not to have it with you at all times. It keeps the same concave blade for digging, sharp edge for slicing and the serrated opposite edge for cutting, but loses 70mm off it's overall length (50mm off the blade, 20mm from the handle).

This smaller knife is sized specifically to be carried with you whether gardening, camping or exploring. It's sheath not only protects the blade when not in use, but also loops onto your belt.

Given it's bladed sides and silhouette, this tool generally falls into the category of being a "gardening knife", though this simple term doesn't do it justice. One side of the blade is sharpened and can be used for any outdoor task that would normally have you reaching for a knife - slicing small weeds, cutting twine and the odd bit of harvesting, for example.

However, the second side is heavily serrated and allows the knife to act as a saw when tougher roots are encountered. The point allows the gardener to loosen tough soils and clay.

As well as this, the Mini Hori's 13cm blade is scalloped, giving it the shape of a trowel. This allows it to be used as an excavating tool while planting seedlings, and the dual centimetres/inches increments on it's reverse allow easy judgement of the depth of holes when planting seeds and seedlings, or for easy spacing of plants.
