In-Ground Worm Farming

1The basics

The secret to all worm farms is healthy, happy worms.

Worms eat the bacteria that break down your food scraps and keep the bacteria balanced.

You’ll find worms easy to look after if you remember they have sensitive skin so need a comfortable temperature, darkness, and to be kept moist but not soaked.

Did you know?

  • The worms in worm farms aren’t earth worms, they’re a mix of worm breeds called “compost worms”.

  • Compost worms eat their body weight in food each day. Although they are mostly farming good bacteria on the surface of the food. Your worm farmers keep your soil ecosystem in balance.

  • As your worm population increases, your Subpod will be able to handle more and more food. Start small and grow!
